Red Hat Girl - There is usually a crowd of a dozen or two women all sporting bright red hats. We have all seen those Red Hat groups gathered together at some restaurant, or restaurant / bistro combination, laughing and seemingly the happiest people in the room. They have a great time. My wife, although this painting is not her, enjoys the dinners out with her Red Hat group when she is able to go. Sometimes she has to miss their monthly get-to-gethers and stay home due to medical reasons. I know she misses them. Your comments are welcome.

At the Sacramento Food Bank - Several mornings ago I responded to a televised plea from the Sacramento Food Bank for turkeys for the homeless and needy. They had a goal of 500 for the day. I was there at about 6:00 AM or so and was one of the first 20 or so to donate. On the way there I spotted several homeless, cold and I presume hungry, people huddled on a bench. This resembles one of them. Such character in their faces. The last time I watched the news that day the food bank had collected almost 3000 turkeys for the needy, a tribute to Sacramento, CA. Poodle in Light - Rex was the poodle's name and his owner was an attorney and friend I knew some 35 years ago in Wichita, Kansas. I found an old picture of them both just yesterday. I think they both must be long gone by now. Rex seemed always vigilant, alert and never seemed to let his guard down. I thought that was unusual for a full sized poodle. Your comments are welcome.

The Jazz Bass Man - 40 plus years ago I lived and worked in Kansas City, MO. which was known for its Jazz clubs. I would spend weekend evenings listening to all the greats of the time. The clubs were dimly lit, smoky and filled with the best jazz in the country. There was even one club, the "Flight 42 Club” that was housed in a retired airliner, I think a Boeing 707, that had been towed in and remodeled into a jazz club. Some of you may remember it. Another great place to hear the greats of the times was "The Place in Westport" near the Plaza. There were many others and also there was downtown. This painting reminds me of some of those wonderful evenings. Your comments are welcome.
