Inuit Girl - This is the first Inuit I've done in "Watercolor". It was a real learning experience in wet on dry and layering. It took more time than I expected, but I personally like the outcome.

Your comments, positive or negative, are welcome.

Inuit child – This was an outstanding subject to work with offering several new challenges and that meant new personal growth. The main challenge was the construction of a child’s facial subtleties in her natural skin tones in a small area. I’ve never tried it before. It took more thought than I believed it would, but finally came out OK. Your comments are welcomed.

Old Brave in Minnesota Winter - Oil on 11 x 14 Canvas Panel

- No Longer Available -

Old Brave in Minnesota Winter – I grew up in northern Minnesota, that’s why. Senior citizens have so much character in their faces. Painting them is interesting, fun and rewarding if you get it to look right. I think finally I did here. I’d appreciate your comments. Incidentally, if you do recognize the eyes in this one you get a gold star too.

***** Sarah G. from Washington won the gold star by identifying the eyes in this one. *****

Tribal Chief – This one taught me a number of new lessons which hopefully I won’t repeat on the next one of this type, I had to do a few corrections along the way. If you take a close look at the eyes and mouth you may recognize them as taken from a photo of one of my favorite, and now deceased, country music stars. I’ll give a gold star to the first person who comes up with the correct answer. Your comments are welcome.

***** The gold star was won today 7/8/08 by Esther R. Congratulations Esther. Since Esther won the gold star I've had many others that also got it correct. Thank all of you for participating. ******
