Sunrise on Field – Oil on 14 x 18 Canvas Panel – Another oil painting based on my memories of now almost five decades ago growing up in rural northern Minnesota. Sometimes the sunrises were spectacular as the air was crisp and crystal clear. Moisture or you could call it evening dew had turned to mist and lazily meandered in the fields refracting the morning sunlight into waves of color. I’m sure I’ve taken a little creative license here, but if you think of it, aren’t all old memories composed somewhat of enhancements? Your comments are welcome.

Portrait Study3 – I’ve tried something completely out of my comfort zone here. First I used colors I don’t normally use crimson, light yellow, cobalt blue, along with old familiars white and black. Second I’ve used a completely imaginary subject. And third, I’ve tried to stay looser in my style; all relatively foreign to me in the past. I’ve said it before and here it comes again. You have to challenge yourself constantly with new things to grow and here I’ve done it. I mean challenged myself. Your comments are welcome.
