Opal - Oil on 8 x 10 Canvas Panel
SOLD 6/17/2008
Opal – We adopted Opal in about 1996. She was sitting up on the spa having a conversation with me while I soaked when she spotted a bird. I hope I’ve captured the expression correctly. Who says you can’t paint expressions on animal’s faces. Opal disappeared mysteriously about a year after we got her. It’s to bad as she was really cute. Your comments are welcome.
As a student in northern Minnesota I enjoyed being an artist. My uncle Charles: C. X. Carlson, a noted author, artist and muralist was a great influence me.
I sketched and painted everyday until age sixteen or so, then it seemed as though life took over. Since then I've lived in Kansas, Texas and presently in California. Now, 50+ years later and retired, I have returned to the more pleasurable pastimes of my youth.
This year, 2007, I started drawing, painting and playing music once again. It will be interesting to see where these endeavors guide me and how my skills in turn develop over time. Everything I offer here is an original. Some may be renditions of other works I find interesting, however originals just the same. If you see something you would like to purchase, email me or use either the purchase link or the "BUY NOW" button that is with the painting you like. You can use either PayPal or credit card and its secure. No Paypal account necessary. Any questions, just email me.
