Mississippi Creek - I took this picture and about thirty others similar to it more than twenty years ago while visiting my childhood home in northern Minnesota, USA. This creek is a tributary to the Mississippi River near Grand Rapids, MN. As a child I spent my free time hunting and fishing in and amongst scenes just like this one; wonderful memories. In those years almost everyone I knew lived either on or near the water, either lakes or the river; the Mississippi. Being around water was a way of life for me at that time. This particular scene is unusual due to the fact that it lacks some of the numerous evergreen trees that populate northern MN. I guess that's why I wanted to paint it today as it just struck me as different from most of the rest of the pictures from that trip. Your comments are welcome.
